Vanilla+ Changes

Vanilla+ Changes

Arctic Realms enhances the classic Minecraft experience with carefully selected quality-of-life improvements designed specifically for multiplayer gameplay. These enhancements simply address multiplayer-specific challenges without fundamentally changing how Minecraft works.

🌍 World & Environment Enhancements

Player-Friendly Improvements

  • Fire tick disabled: Prevents griefing and accidental base destruction in a shared world.
  • Crop trampling disabled: Respects other players’ farms and food production.
  • Fast leaf decay enabled: Reduces cleanup time after community tree harvesting.

Technical Changes

  • Fixed sand/gravity-block duping mechanics: TNT/carpet/rails duping still works for community farm projects.
  • Bedrock remains unbreakable: Prevents world leaks and maintains world integrity.
  • Dynamic view distance: 8 chunks standard; adjusts during high activity to keep server gameplay smooth.
  • Anti-Xray measures: You may notice ores/blocks changing around you while mining as a security measure.
  • Player-friendly world border: Teleports players to spawn instead of damaging them.

⚔️ Mob Balance Adjustments

Mob Spawning Changes

  • Reduced zombified piglin portal spawning.
  • Toggle phantoms: Gives players control over this sometimes frustrating mechanic.
  • Per-player mob spawn cap.
  • Dynamic mob spawn rates: Based on player count (higher player count = lower spawn rate).

Improved Interactions

  • Global spawn sound disabled: Silenced for Ender Dragon and Wither.
  • Ender Dragon tracking: Damage for each player is tracked and announced at the end of the boss fight.
